Golden is a subscription-based platform that focuses on senior care management that I conceptualized in a social entrepreneurship course during my Masters degree. I’ve continued refining the product, prototype, deck, and more over the past year and further worked on during the capstone course of my degree alongside three other group members. I am now in the stages of learning the bubble.io nocode software to teach myself app development basics. Golden was a Semi-finalist in the USC New Venture Seed Competition and a finalist in the USC IYA Social Impact Prize.

The US’ current at-home senior care system is not equipped to face the incoming elder boom. The U.S. elderly care is amongst the worst ranked against wealthy nations, based off of access, affordability, timeliness of care, and care coordination. Finally, there are more personal issues affecting seniors and caregivers as well, including: caregiver disrespect, low wages, and guilt, senior abuse and neglect, and lack of transparency.

“10,000 adults turn 65 in the US every day, and 87% of seniors hope to age in their own homes”

- AARP

How might we use technology to streamline the caregiver search and management process for families and caregivers alike? In turn, how might we leverage our solution to entice more young people into the caregiving industry?

A collection of screens from the mobile app’s UI. Screens depict the senior’s profile, medication list, document scan, and communication channels.

07. User Persona

A user persona based off of interviews with the families of seniors, surveys sent to a combination of family members, caregivers, individuals working in the medical field, seniors, and more.
